Environmental scientists are harnessing the power of big data in their fight against climate change. AI and machine learning solutions can help monitor natural disasters for at-risk communities, fight poaching and illegal deforestation, or even limit pesticide use in agriculture.

Data analysis, which allows us to discover connections and correlations hidden in the vast amounts of information, is the foundation of those projects. It provides a deeper understanding to help develop solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

What We Stand For

We are a company with a mission. Our core purpose is to “advance technology to preserve and improve human life.” And we believe that one of the greatest threats humanity faces right now is climate change.

Our team has gathered significant expertise in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and we want to put these technologies to work in resolving some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges. However, we are not environmental scientists. That is why we are looking for partners for whom we could help achieve their mission with our expertise.

Mission-Driven Results

Appsilon has already proven it can deliver great results for its non-profit partners. The company developed a machine learning model currently being used by scientists from the Stirling University and park rangers in the African rainforests. It helps analyze animal movements, better allocate scarce resources, and spot potential warning signs to some of the world’s most endangered species. All thanks to the rapid identification of camera trap images.

Appsilon has also worked with the International Institute for Applied System Analysis (IIASA) on the decision support system for natural disaster risk management in Madagascar.
