Announcing the Appsilon Shiny Conference: 27-29 April 2022


We are proud to announce the First Annual Appsilon Shiny Conference on 27-29 April 2022, hosted by Appsilon with support from RStudio PBC. Subscribe to updates about the CFP, guest speakers, and registration information here.

The virtual conference will feature guest speakers from the R Community including Eric Nantz of the R-Podcast, Diane Beldame of ThinkR, and many more. The public CFP will open on or before 1 February 2022 and close on 1 March 2022

The Appsilon Shiny Conference has three goals:

  1. Showcase recent advancements in R Shiny technology such as open source packages, Shiny interoperability, and commercial applications.
  2. Create a shared space for the diverse global community of Shiny developers to learn, network, and collaborate.
  3. Provide a platform for Shiny community members to share their open source packages and Shiny applications.

We’re big on Shiny at Appsilon, and we want to help the Shiny Community grow. That means connecting those around us and providing an inclusive platform to share and learn together. We’re excited to be able to bring you the biggest Shiny-specific event of the year and we can’t wait to connect with you.

Appsilon Shiny Conference Speakers You Need to See

 

Eric Nantz, creator and host of the R-Podcast, is a statistician in life sciences and an experienced R user. Eric has parlayed his enjoyment R and Shiny into a successful R-educational youtube channel, Shiny Developer Series. And in keeping with the spirit of open source Eric’s podcasts and video series are freely available. If you’re eager to learn about R or Shiny – this is one speaker you don’t want to miss out on.

Appsilon Shiny Conference Accessibility

We will make our best effort to uphold the accessibility standards from useR 2021. This includes:

  1. All recorded content and video uploads will be captioned.
  2. Live content where be captioned where possible.
  3. We will choose accessible platforms for conference hosting when possible.
  4. Presentations will be constructed with screen reading compatibility in mind.

The Appsilon Shiny Conference will be held virtually and will be free to attend. We’re focused on building a strong Shiny community and that means enabling open access to all.
